The Honeywell Farenhyt IDP Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Detector Series is a range of intelligent addressable smoke detectors designed to provide accurate and reliable smoke detection within Farenhyt fire alarm systems. The series includes the IDP-PHOTO for photoelectric smoke detection, the IDP-PHOTO-T combining photoelectric smoke detection with thermal sensing, and the IDP-PHOTOR designed to support remote testing in compatible duct smoke detector applications. The Honeywell Farenhyt IDP Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Detector Series is a family of intelligent addressable detectors designed to provide reliable and accurate smoke detection within compatible Farenhyt fire alarm systems. The series combines intelligent photoelectric sensing technology with individual addressability, allowing each detector to communicate directly with the fire alarm control panel and provide precise information about its status and location within the protected facility.

The series includes several models designed for different fire detection requirements. The IDP-PHOTO is an intelligent photoelectric smoke detector designed for general smoke detection applications. The IDP-PHOTO-T combines photoelectric smoke detection with thermal sensing using dual electronic thermistors, providing an additional thermal detection function with a fixed temperature point of 135°F (57°C). The IDP-PHOTOR provides remote test capability and is designed for use with compatible DNR and DNRW duct smoke detector housings.

Each detector incorporates rotary address switches, allowing a unique address to be assigned to the device during installation. This enables the fire alarm control panel to individually identify each detector, improving the accuracy of alarm location identification and simplifying system testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

The detectors also feature dual LED indicators that provide visual information about device status. Their intelligent design allows detector sensitivity to be programmed and monitored from the fire alarm control panel, giving system designers and operators greater control over detection performance according to the requirements of the protected environment.

For duct detection applications, the IDP-PHOTOR provides remote testing capability when installed with compatible DNR/DNRW equipment. According to the product documentation, this configuration supports applications covered by UL 268A, providing an integrated solution for intelligent smoke detection within HVAC duct systems.
