It automatically isolates a shorted wiring segment while keeping the remainder of the loop operational, and isolation can also be activated manually from the control panel for diagnostics, making it suitable for facilities that require higher reliability in system wiring.
The Simplex 4090-9116 is an addressable IDNet communications isolator that provides automatic short-circuit isolation on addressable signaling line circuits, improving system integrity and simplifying installation and maintenance.
It is compatible with Simplex panels such as the 4007ES, 4008, 4010ES, 4100ES, and 4100U providing IDNet, IDNet+, IDNet 1+, IDNet 2, or IDNet 2+2 output loops.
Either port can serve as an input or output, and the ports are automatically separated when a communications short circuit occurs. Isolation can also be activated from the control panel to assist with troubleshooting wiring problems, including common earth-fault conditions.
The isolator supports Class B or Class A wiring, and Class A SLCs can maintain communications with devices outside the isolated section. It mounts in a standard square electrical box with an LED that flashes to indicate communications.
