The Simplex Monitor ZAM is an addressable interface that allows a single IDNet or MAPNET II point to monitor a conventional initiating device circuit (IDC) populated with 2-wire or 4-wire devices.
Available for Class B and Class A models with compact mounting and a communications LED, it is suitable for facilities combining existing conventional devices with a modern addressable fire alarm system.
Monitor ZAM modules allow conventional detection circuits to be connected to an addressable fire alarm system, so a group of conventional devices can be supervised as a single addressable point on the communications loop.
Models such as the 4090-9101 provide Class B monitoring for 2-wire or 4-wire initiating devices with power reset connections for 4-wire devices, while the 4090-9106 provides Class A monitoring for 2-wire initiating devices.
The modules are compatible with Simplex panels using IDNet communications such as the 4007ES, 4010ES, and 4100ES, as well as MAPNET II systems on supported panels and Communicating Device Transponders.
The sealed construction minimizes dust infiltration and mounts in a standard 4 in. square electrical box with screw terminals and a visible communications LED, simplifying installation and maintenance.
